Dr. John Wendt, Chiropractor

All too often it’s the practitioner who gets all the information about the patient, and the patient gets little information about the practitioner and his practice. I would like to change that.My full name is John Ross Wendt and I was born in York, Pennsylvania. I went to college at Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas Texas and graduated in 2007. I enjoy being hysically active with trail running, hiking, weight training, all sports, and calming my nerves with yoga, meditation, cooking and landscaping (manual, get your hands in the dirt, yard work.)

I was inspired to become a healing practitioner because of an injury I sustained at 15. I had been to a large public pool with friends. The day was hot and extremely humid. I dove off the high dive and wrenched my neck as I entered the water. As I floated to the top of the water all I felt was a searing pain at the base of my skull. I made my way to the side of the pool and lay there, paralyzed with fear, nauseated, blurry vision, and my head pounding. I thought I was going to die on the side of a public pool. What seemed like hours went by before my friend’s Mom, Sharon, stood over me; “Are you ok? You have been laying here for an awfully long time.” She sat me up and rubbed the back of my neck as I winced in pain. She suggested we head home, and we loaded up the vehicle.

On the way home she lovingly suggested that I see her chiropractor, for which she worked. I declined, ignorant to the term, and went home to suffer with ice and Advil. Within the hour I had received a phone call from Dr. Jim (Sharon’s Chiropractor), who encouraged me to visit with him in his office to see if he could help. Reluctantly my father and I went to see the Chiropractor. Late on a Saturday afternoon, when the office did not hold hours, Dr. Jim changed my life. He met us at his office, leaving a family BBQ, when he had never met us before! After brief explanation, Dr. Jim adjusted a Subluxation at C1 (in the neck) which relieved 80% of my headache, all of my nausea, and restored my blurred vision. I often thank God for the Love of Dr. James Shaeffer.

I’ve chosen to devote my life to the healing arts, like Dr. Jim, because I wake up every day to serve my community, known or unknown, in hopes to help change the life of someone in my community. I am grateful I did so because each day miracles happen, and I’m humbled to share in the miracles of life expression. I believe with all my heart in the principles of alternative healing which is: “The power that made the body heals the body. It happens no other way.”

I believe with all my heart in how I practice and always strive to improve it. I believe I give an excellent service for a fair fee. I want to help people and because of that I want you to refer and continue to refer patients to me because we can create a community of high vibration, enthusiastic, loving people in which we can feel safe to raise our children. I established this clinic, in this particular community because Longmont is a little town with a big heart, and holds so many things near and dear to my heart only minutes away. The whole purpose of this clinic is to educate and serve this community on current health needs, and facilitate your ability to heal. What seems to make this practice unique is our focus on Truth, your truths, and individual needs. My personal promise to you is that I’ll strive each and every day to bring the most up to date research, best clinical skills, and honest loving integrity that I hold myself to, so I may better serve you and the rest of our community.

Originally trained as a Chiropractor, I have 3 years of post-graduate work studying Neurology, Muscle Response Testing, Nutrition, Hormones, Stress Reduction and Neuro-Emotional Technique. This work allows me to remove subluxations or blockages of nerve function thereby improving the lives of my patients and consequently their surrounding environment.
