Welcome to 2012, a year full of possibilities. As we turn into a new year and begin to review the year gone past we often reflect on the things we would like to change about ourselves. Many times these changes get lost in our day to day activities and a month two, even a whole year go by and we may not make significant alterations to our lives to incorporate what we want to change. Well I am here to walk you through health changes and begin to show you how to live a life to the max, while enjoying the smell of roses along the way.
We start the journey where each day begins and ends, sleep. All too often we make excuses for staying up late or snoozing until minutes before we need to leave the comfort of the bed for the bitter cold that awaits just outside our door.
My question to you; Are you satisfied with you current level of rest?
If the answer is no then please read on and find tips to supporting yourself in sleep. If the answer is yes, please read on and find out ways to maximize your sleep.
We all know that sleep should occur from 7-9 hours per night, with the nightly average coming around 7 1/2 hours. However this depends on how fast you may fall asleep, whether you sleep through the night, or activities done before going to sleep.
How fast do you fall asleep? If you sleep in seconds after laying down, chances are you are pushing your nervous system too far on a daily basis. When your nervous system is ramped up all day we refer to this a sympathetic overload. Too much visual stimulation (computers, tv, video games and the like), poor food choices (excitotoxic foods, sugar, grain overload, caffeine and the like), not enough exercise, poor communication in relationships, infections, and subluxations of the spine all contribute to sympathetic overload. If this imbalance continues for any period of time permanent damage can occur to the body and the mind.
The good news is that we can correct choices and behaviors to improve mind and body.
SOLUTION: Many people whom push their sympathetic system deplete their bodies mineral and B-Vitamin stores making them crash energetically or sleep in seconds after laying down. We recommend BODY BALANCE by Life Force International to support your bodies mineral needs, as each ounce of liquid contains over 120 minerals and aloe to support healing of the body. B-Vitamins often taken in high doses cause our urine to turn darker or even orange. This is usually a sign of synthetic vitamins or malabsorption. We address these problems by using whole food supplements from Standard Process, specifically Cataplex B. Cataplex B supports the bodies ability to metabolize proteins, fats, and carbohydrates which energize the body, red blood cells which carry oxygen and nutrients throughout the body and neurotransmitters which balance mood and stress.
